Welcome to the 2020 Winona Woods Board

At the February General Meeting elections took place in order to install a new Winona Woods Board. Please join us in welcoming this group and thanking them for stepping in as to ensure a future for our organization as well as the furtherance of a stronger community. President
Christyn Sanagursky 

Christyn Sanagursky has lived on Catalpa Road since 2016. During her home search, she explored several Irondequoit neighborhoods and kept being drawn to Winona Woods. She loves the friendly neighbors, walkable streets, and beautiful homes and gardens. You’ll often see her outside with her dog, Ginger. She looks forward to serving her neighbors on the WWNA board and continuing to make the neighborhood a great place to live. Professionally, Christyn is a development officer for the Monroe Community College Foundation and is active in a variety of fundraising and SUNY-related organizations.


Vice President
Meg Wells 

Meg and her husband have lived in the Winona Woods neighborhood since 2015 and have since grown thier family by two sweet little boys born in 2017 and 2019. She is a clinical trials project coordinator in geriatric oncology. In her (limited) spare time Meg can be found a wandering the stacks of the Irondequoit Public library and staying up far too late reading.


Secretary
Bonnie Linden

Bonnie moved to Winona Woods in  the summer of 2019. Professionally, she works as Computer Desktop Hardware Engineer. Before her time in Winona Woods she helped found the first Braddock Bay Neighborhood Association and Neighborhood Watch and subsequently, served as President and various positions in the NA for over 10 years.  Additionally she worked as the BBNA representative to the Braddock Bay Advisory Committee (which oversees the 2700 acres of wetlands in Braddock Bay) for over 10 years. During her tenure as President, Bonnie worked with the Town of Greece to unite all Greece NA’s with goal to provide a united voice and representation to the Town, Police and Fire Department. Her interests outside of work include gardening, bird watching, kayaking, bicycling, exploring our parks and travel.


Treasurer
Marina Barnum

Currently a treasurer and a resident of the Winona Woods Neighborhood Association, a transport from Toronto, Ontario – CANADA and have lived in East Irondequoit, the city of Rochester, and Henrietta. She also sits on several other boards: Secretary at DEAF Circle and the Rochester School for the Deaf PSA as co-secretary. In addition she’s a Parent Leadership Training Institute Alumni – Cohort #6 where her focus had been making Irondequoit more accessible to Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents. Marina and her family feels fortunate to have found Winona Woods as their home with its tree lined streets, charming homes and friendly/helpful neighbors!


Director of Community Initiatives 
Cheddy Harvey

Cheddy and Dave moved to Winona Boulevard with their son Eric in 1983. They had been looking for months for a home and the moment they pulled in the driveway and laid eyes on this house, they knew it was “the one”. They have been committed to its restoration since that day. Now retired, Cheddy worked for 41 years as a school psychologist in the Greece Central Schools and the Harley School. During that time she also taught professional development for BOCES 2 and Greece Central, graduate classes at RIT , and continuing education classes in Greece. She has always been proud to be part of WWNA. She values personal connections and looks forward to meeting folks and to helping keep WWNA strong.


Director of Special Events 
Mary Howard 

Mary Howard has lived in West Irondequoit for nearly 30 years with the last three years living in Winona Woods. Mary has been a volunteer for various WW events which is something she really enjoys personally and professionally. She is a licensed real estate agent with Howard Hanna and holds a special designation as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist, working with elders and their families. Prior to becoming a real estate agent, Mary held positions managing and executing large-scale events including the year-long City of Rochester 175th anniversary celebration, the High Falls Film Festival in 2013 as well as serving as a board member with the Corn Hill Neighborhood Association. Mary has two adult children, twin grandsons and a adorable Shitzu named Tucker. She loves gardening, outdoor hiking/xcountry skiing, golf, Euchre, the Buffalo Bills and spending time with her family. She is very excited about working as the events chair and continuing the tradition of the garden tours and garage sale with some new twists!


At Large Member
Gail Hoins

Gail moved to Belcoda Drive in 1998 with her partner, Jami Jamison. They had been looking for a home and when they drove down St. Paul Blvd., Gail was thrilled with the diverse style of homes, large trees and close neighborhood feeling which reminding her of the small-town home in Nebraska, where she grew up. Now that Gail has retired as a Regional Vice President from a large global company which included lots of travel to now part time consulting, daily walks and visiting with folks from the neighborhood bring much joy and relaxation. Life if good on Belcoda Drive! Gail is looking forward to her new position with WWNA and helping support the needs of the community.
