2019 Landmark Society Home & Garden Tour to be hosted in Winona Woods Neighborhood

The Landmark Society’s 49th Annual House and Garden Tour will take place in the St. Paul Boulevard/Winona Woods neighborhood on Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd.   This will this be the first time the tour has come to this area of Irondequoit in many years, and we are excited to showcase the diverse architectural resources in the community to a wide audience.  St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Church will serve as tour headquarters and parking for the attendees.

About The Tour:
You will still see picturesque woods on this tour, as the ravines leading to the Genesee River are designated as environmental protection areas. The houses fall in two categories: the grand houses on the Boulevard and the charming homes on the Winona Woods streets. You’ll enjoy a grandiose Colonial Revival, an amazing Tudor Revival designed by Ward Wellington Ward and a fine home that hides a “secret”: a speakeasy style bar room from Prohibition. The homes on the side streets including entrancing bungalows, plus a “storybook style” house that will have you swearing you’ve been magically transported to Paris. Gardens on this Tour are promised to be lovely – with one spectacular sunken garden stealing the show.
