Over the past few months Winona Woods has gathered lots of resident input surrounding unique neighborhood street signs for our community. So many thoughtful ideas and wonderful suggestions were submitted and we were able to use all of the comments in order to create a proposal that we are confident all residents will be proud of.

With the exception of the lamp post signs at Chapel Hill Drive & Carriage Lane, these street signs would replace our current green signs and bring positive attention to our community. With signs like this visitors to our neighborhood will now be aware of our community as a special place in our town.

Overwhelmingly, residents suggested brown as the color for the sign. Many others suggested a tree, a house or “WW” be included in the image. As you can see we were able to include everyone’s suggestions!

Signs will replaced in a phased process which would begin along St. Paul Blvd. and then work their way in.  The phase one costs will be covered  from the proceeds of the street picnic and no further donations will be asked of our residents! UPDATE 4/26/16: Street Signs were funded thanks to the Town of Irondequoit Neighborhood Enhancement Program Grant and the fifth sign was chosen in conjunction with the Town DPW for visibility purposes. In addition, once we purchase the signs the Town of Irondequoit will both install them and maintain them in perpetuity which means that there would never be any further costs to our organization for repair or replacement.
