Nextdoor – No Thanks

Some neighbors may have received invitations to join the social media network Nextdoor. Although our neighborhood is registered on the network as Winona Woods,  the association is not encouraging residents to sign up and these invitations have not been initiated or sent out on our behalf.  After doing research on  the network and carefully vetting the pros and cons, including claims of issues with racial profiling, loss of private information, and marginalization the Winona Woods Board has decided not to move forward with the platform at this time.

Residents should feel free to do what they think is best for them, however, the association makes no guarantee that information shared on the site is factual or appropriate. As we do not and are not able to manage this platform, negative remarks and contributions which could be considered of poor taste on this site should not be considered a reflection of the values of our organization.
