Early Wednesday, April 8th a house fire took place on Winona Blvd causing extensive damage. Thankfully all of the residents were able to exit the home safely. More information is available here from News 10 NBC.

Winona Woods has been working to make contact with the homeowners and offer assistance. However, our best efforts have been unsuccessful. Consequently, we are unsure if there is a desire for assistance or if  help is wanted what the needs are.

Nonetheless, we want to show our neighbors we care about them so we would like to raise a small amount of money to place on a Wegman’s gift card as a token of our concern. In order to contribute simply click the donate button below. We will accept $5  donations for two weeks (until 4/22). At which time we will withdraw the funds and purchase the gift card. If for whatever reason, the family decides not to accept the gift or we are unable to get in touch with them all of the funds will be donated in their honor to the St. Paul Blvd. Fire Department who responded to the fire.

* If you prefer you may also send a check made out to the Winona Woods Neighborhood Association at 35 Chelsea Rd. Rochester, NY 14617. Please indicate “Fire Donation” on the check. We will see to it that those funds are added to the gift.
