Thanks to an incredible team lead by Jim Barnum, Winona Woods is pleased to announce that we won the Rochester Marathon Spirit Contest!

The event boasted homes decorated for various seasons along St. Paul Blvd. Starting at the corner of St. Paul and Chelsea Rd. Susanna Kopp organized the Easter house, complete with her in a rabbit costume. Next, was the Tiki Bar Water Station lead by Kim Sherwood. This area featured friends and neighbors in hulu skirts and leis. The table was outfitted in a grass skirt and inflatable palm trees complete with parrots. Further on down we had the 4th of July with Bruce Springsteen music, flags and buntings which was set up by Colleen Parsons and Jim Barnum. After that the Chistmas stop led by Eileen and Tom Broderick included Christmas music, inflatable displays and Santa himself. Last but not least, was the Halloween house put together by Anne Johnson and her family near Parkside and St. Paul.

This was an event where our community truly pulled together to welcome guests to our neighborhood. The positive feedback that we received from the event has been quite overwhelming and we look forward to doing it again next year.

Thank you to all of those who volunteered, let us borrow supplies, use their lawns, or even dressed up in costume. Your support was invaluable and truly noticed.
